**Title: British Commentator Milo Yiannopoulos Deported from U.S. Amid Immigration Controversy**

British right-wing political commentator Milo Yiannopoulos has been deported from the United States, following his detention by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Yiannopoulos, 41, a former editor of Breitbart News and a former political aide to rapper Kanye West, was sent back to the UK on Friday, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Yiannopoulos, who has been described as an "illegal alien from the United Kingdom," was arrested on August 27 upon his arrival at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. The DHS stated that Yiannopoulos "chose to overstay his welcome in violation of our nation's laws," after initially entering the U.S. in May 2019.

The self-proclaimed "most fabulous supervillain on the internet" has been a polarizing figure, both in the U.S. and internationally. He has advocated for stricter immigration controls and has been criticized for his comments on a variety of sensitive topics, including transgender individuals, Muslims, and members of the Black Lives Matter movement. Despite identifying as gay, Yiannopoulos has courted controversy with his comments and has labeled himself an "ex-gay."

The DHS has previously cheered on ICE raids and has called for "total legal immunity for ICE agents when they're on duty." In 2025, Yiannopoulos wrote on social media, "We have got to deport millions and millions of people. Without that, nothing else matters."

Yiannopoulos was an early supporter of Donald Trump during the 2016 election, headlining an event called Gays for Trump at the Republican National Convention. However, he has since become a critic of the U.S. president, although he still voices support for his agenda. In March of this year, Yiannopoulos wrote on X that Trump had "lost his way, bought off by foreign interests."

In 2020, Yiannopoulos assisted Kanye West in his unsuccessful bid to become president and later worked for Marjorie Taylor Greene, a former Republican congresswoman who resigned from office after falling out with Trump.

Laura Loomer, a far-right commentator and Trump ally, took credit for Yiannopoulos's arrest, claiming on X that his flight back to the UK had already departed. Loomer wrote, "This subversive foreign agent is already out of the United States and DHS tells me he's NEVER allowed to come back to the United States ever again."

In 2017, Yiannopoulos was disinvited from speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) after footage emerged of him appearing to condone paedophilia. He later apologized and resigned from Breitbart. Yiannopoulos has denied the allegations, claiming he was speaking about his own experiences as a child.

Yiannopoulos was once linked with the alt-right, a group known for its opposition to political correctness and feminism. However, he has said he does not consider himself part of the alt-right, although he has described it as "energizing and exciting."

The deportation of Yiannopoulos has sparked a debate over immigration policies and free speech in the United States. Critics argue that his deportation is a violation of his First Amendment rights, while supporters maintain that he poses a threat to public safety and that his views are harmful to society.

The case of Milo Yiannopoulos serves as a reminder of the ongoing tensions between immigration enforcement and free speech in the United States. As the debate continues, it remains to be seen how these tensions will be resolved and what impact they will have on the country's social and political landscape.
